Diabetic Eye Treatment

Diabetes is the single largest cause of blindness in adults in the United States. Diabetic retinopathy occurs when high blood sugar damages the small blood vessels in the retina. Initially you may have no symptoms; or your might have blurry or double vision, flashing lights or bright spots, pain or pressure in one or both eyes, or trouble seeing out of the corners of your eyes.

It is vitally important that diabetics control their blood sugar with diet and medication as indicated by your primary physician, and obtain an annual eye exam in order to stave off or treat the challenges to your vision presented by diabetes.

To have an annual eye exam or have your eyes checked if you have any of these symptoms, (whether you are a diabetic or not),
