Healthy Eye  Unhealthy Eye

Each eye has a “lens” which lies behind the iris and the pupil. It works much like a camera lens, focusing light onto the retina at the back of the eye, and it adjusts the eye's focus, letting us see things clearly near and far away.

A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s lens – which initially can bother you with a little blurred vision. Many people say that for a time it is like looking through a dirty window. People with diabetes seem to have a higher risk factor for cataracts, but as we age, many people without any obvious risk factors develop cataracts.

Cataract screening is painless, fast and easy. To make an appointment to check your eye for cataracts, either as part of an annual eye exam or a separate review, please call our office at 410/546-2500
